Anet reveals level cap in GW2

I read that after 2 mins it was published, haha lucky twitter user I guess.

Well, I think it will be just like now with the levels, same XP gained so the levels stay the same. I wouldn't mind. In fact I think it's better because now we can tell with ease who's more experienced by looking at their level and not at their gear. My 2c.

Meh.


Id rather it was much harder to gain levels at the high end myself even if its for tiny or no rewards at all other than being to show off an extra level.

Gain a level every few hours? the 80th level as easy to gain as the 10th? imo it'll be just the same as guild wars now, everyone will be running around with level 80 instead of level 20 and there will be nothing to distinguish between players again.


I just don't see why. I thought the level cap was going to be raised to allow people to use level as some kind of indicator how much/often they play with that character instead of giving super powered returns. Making it as easy to gain levels at the high end will kind of ruin that unless the level cap is increased to about 1000.

^ I always liked that idea. Sadly it's flawed. People are bad and they might do with that what they do now with Hero, Gladiator or Codex ranks.

It's very annoying that i cant do much PvP stuff (HA, etc) cos im a late starter

Levels won't be used for discrimination in pvp. The world pvp is any level anyone can jump straight in, structured pvp will be everyone the same level and equipment by the looks.

Undoubtedly something will end up being used in pvp to discriminate though.
