I'm not too good when it comes to that but I used XFire. Pretty good, nice quality, fast and easy to use.

fraps always used to be the main one used, they used to have a free demo that could record 30 secs at a time

well it depends what you want, programmes such as camtasia and hypercam generaly lag when you try to record full screen but id defo go with fraps much easier just it makes the files HUGE

Yeah but you can convert that to smaller size really easy with windows movie maker, Id reccomen Fraps.
