Way to do DoA / Builds - Chars - Requirements

Hello all,

i have done DoA on my ele and ritu but dont know what to do to have sucess there e. g. in HM. Perhaps you can help me with some nice builds (sorted by chars - ele, necro, ritu, para, etc.) or ideas what the player's char must have as requirement (Lightbringer Rank 6 or higher etc.).

Please i need your help cause i want to inform guild members of it to get more people for DoA and perhaps to make possible DoA on many different char-classes (warriors isnt possible if i'm right).

Of course I'm an ele, is it possible for me to do the UA monk build, (I have the HB build except I can't fit in the Mimicry because I'd be E/Mo) because I don't like being left out because my main isn't a certain prof.

well u can't rly monk in DoA since Divine Favor does like double healing? (or something like that) but u can run the dwg build for sure, anyone can do that even a warrior

Warrior is possible, my previous guild used to do balanced DoA HM using 2 warriors, although the level of skill of co-ordination for it is way too high for most people.

We (i.e. Kimmuriel and some others) usually do balanced runs, to get other guildies/characters their HoM-statue. Usually 1 imba, 1-2 AP ele/nec's with LB gaze and fill team with discord heroes. We do DoA in NM without cons, and only 1 of the 4 parts at a time ...yes we're slow and dont get that much gems (so that needs to change ).
Room 3 in Foundry is still hard for our team and sometimes causes failure.
City and Veil can be done with same team in HM without cons as well (if everyone pays attention/knows what to and what not to do)

We're just not familiar (yet) with the DwG-runs.

my Rit is r7 LB, but only r4 deldrimor. Is that acceptable (especially the deldrimor part)? Or do i still need some work there?

for deldrimore u can just fill up some books. As for LB it's fine, you'll probably get max in1-2 runs or so.

With the imba, I suggest that you run something along the lines of..

1) LB Sig - 2) SY - 3) Cant touch this - 4) TNTF - 5) They're On Fire - 6) Stand Your Ground - 7) Focused Anger - Blazing Finale.

After lots and lots of doa, hm and nm, this build works out the best for me. have leadership at 13 or 15 (Cons will boost you up), command 9 or above, rest in spear. If you are not using spear skills, and not relying on it at all, put 12/12/3. I typed this up fast, so my gram/spelling/punct is terrible.

Alright so reason I dropped the attack skills is because para damage is fail and we all know this. Just hire a good sos to keep splinter on you and your fine. Otherwise, Party Support > your 30 damage a hit.

Viscous + GFTE is weak imo because GFTO does pretty much nothing in doa except give you energy and allow deepwound for the attack, however, with LB sig you get tons of energy (will go over that later) and you should be spamming SY constantly for even more energy, so overall these 2 skills are just a waste because you can replace both of them with Find Their Weakness for more damage and deepwound in 1 skill, and you can also use that on other characters for advanced reasons that i will go over later as well. personally, i dont take any damage on my imba, but you can if you want to.

My build also lacks a rez, which i have seen in other build. I feel that as imba, your job is to keep the party from getting spiked to death, and rez should not be a part of your bar. In hardmode, most groups run with Frost+ST+Panic+Imba+2monk backline+cons.. with that much defense you should not need to rez, especially when you have a UA. Take rez scrolls for emergencies.

Now skill choice, which is always very important.
1) With LB sig, be smart when using it. If you're blind, use it to gain a full SY, and time it so that you dont overlap a new one and continue the SY chain untill you are able to gain adrenaline again. If you need energiez, you can get full tank by using SY+LB+SY again. This should solve all your energy problems when you are low. If you're in city on hm, just watch your shouts and dont drain yourself. Also dont waste lbsig, stand next to mobs when you use it. Pref. r8 lb

2) SY.. chain it, always. If you have vocal minority or soothing images or any anti SY, ping it out in chat or say on vent. You should have at least r4 of kurz/lux, but r10 is 6 seconds of SY and will help greatly. Keep SY up constantly and your group will love you, and your energy tank. Also, if you wait 1/4th second between reshouts, it triggers Blazing Finale which is big win.

3) CTT is great because you pretty much pwn veil. It gives your group like 1.5k damage reduction against the touchers, it gives you energy return because it only costs 5, and you can time it to trigger blazing finale and keep your mobs burning.

4) TNTF is in here for obvious reasons, big damage reduction, heal, and trigger for Blazing Finale. r10 lb pref.

5) They're On Fire is awesome damage reduction, cheap energy wise (for here at least), and you it triggers blazing if you time it well. I find TOF to be the easier to trigger blazing with because of its recharge and duration, so time it well and watch the fire.

6) SYG is nice armor for the group because you stand still alot. As with the others, it triggers blazing finale. This is pretty much my optional, replace it with fall back or FTW if you want.

7) Nearly perma double adrenaline gain = win. maintain it.

This is my favorite part of the build. Cheap, lasts a long time, maintain it on your frontliners with macro keys for great burning and 70%+ damage reduction with TNTF+TOF. Your DWGs should be balling every group up, which means when ever shout ends, they are all burning. Maintaining burning across 10 mobs is much better damage then viscous and gfte. Try not to overlap your shouts. Time them and let them end, and right when you see burning, reshout them. In doa I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND using this skill, because no matter how bad anybody says it is, they are wrong. Maintaining burning on a ball of enemies + 70% total damage reduction is in no way bad. It's only bad if you dont use it well.

Another point, make sure you are hex free at all times. If you ever have a full 25 seconds of Soothing or Vocal, your monks and rits are slacking and I give you permission to flame/rage/QQ. Spotless Mind is very nice, as well as convert. Keep track of your Mo/Rts recharges.

I Use a slightly different UA build myself, can see why HB would be handy but I take echo instead for double Seed.

That imba build is pretty much exactly what i do and i will admit it works perfect.
Like you said hate it when teammates don't remove hex.
